Rockwater provided the analysis, service and products that made this gas well in the Permian Basin pay out in less than 12 hours. The well continues to pump at levels exceeding previous levels. Rockwater products used: GasPlus gas production enhancer and AF-5020 multifunctional foamer.
PROBLEM
The well’s gas production was in steep decline, leading the customer to believe the potential of the well was not being fully realized. Decline curve and well performance analyses suggested the probability of a water block preventing optimum gas production.
Customer
Major independent with subject well located in Winkler County of West Texas’ Permian Basin.Pertinent Well Data:
Zone: Devonian Perforations: Approximately 9,000’ Casing: 7” Tubing: 2 3/8” Lift type: Jet pump.Production prior to workover:
Gas MCF: 1,850 MCFD Condensate: Not measured Water: 30 BWPD

RECOMMENDATION
After the decision was made to treat for a water block, Rockwater recommended Gas Plus - Gas Production Enhancer - to bring the well back to production expectations. AF-5020 (Multifunctional Foamer) was added to help lighten the column of water to facilitate recovery of the load fluids. The procedure used follows:
- RU pump truck to annulus
- Pump 1000 gallons Gas Plus mixed with 5 gallons AF-5020 @ 2 bpm.
- Flush with 1000 gallons 3% KCl water mixed with 5 gallons AF-5020 @ 2 bpm.
- SI 24 hours & return to production.
SUMMARY
The total job cost paid out in less than 12 hours. Since payout, the average daily revenue generated by the Gas Plus job is $13,500.
Production after workover:
Gas production increased immediately to 5,000 MCFD. Water production increased to 40 bwpd. After 90 days the stabilized results were: Gas MCF: 4,350 MCFD Condensate: Not measured Water: 40 BWPD
