Rockwater provides a variety of solutions to kill sulfur reducing bacteria and acid producing bacteria in your ponds, pits and impoundments, address hydrogen sulfide (H2S), iron sulfide, phenols, and mercaptans. The treatment options are compatible with most commonly used additives in your downhole formulations. Biocide solutions reduce bacterially induced corrosion and are recommended in water-based drilling, completion, and workover fluids. One of the most important phases of treatment occurs immediately prior to the frac during source water disinfection. Any water sources used during frac operations will be injected downhole and combined with fluids where microbes are at much higher concentrations and already adapted to the high-salinity formation. If deleterious microbes thrive in the reservoir, long-term production can be harmed via plugging from biomass growth, fouling, corrosion (from acid formation), and formation of toxic gases like hydrogen sulfide (H2S).
